Connetix tiles are a fantastic and flexible open-ended toy that will amaze you. It was certainly the case for us! They’re beautiful and clear, and simultaneously sturdy. It’s interesting to see how they draw children’s attentionand are able to make them want to engage in a game for many hours or even for days. There is so much you can do with them!
The magnetic tiles stimulate children’s imagination, stimulate their curiosity and assist in developing spatial awareness. They’re great for flat designs as well as 3D design as well as requiring lots of problem-solving in play time. I find it to be a fantastic choice for boys and girls of all ages. They will have fun playing together. It’s among the few toys that can be played with simultaneously my son, who is three years old, and my six-year old daughter. It’s just amazing.
About Connetix
Connetix is an Aussie-based firm that was officially established in 2019 , by two family members that became acquainted when their children began going to the same primary school. They noticed that their young children enjoyed playing and, at the same time, they learnt while using magnetic tile. That’s why they came up with an original version of the game that is durable and secure, while also offering better refraction as compared to the tiles available on the market.
Brea & Dave are the two minds behind the company.
“Brea is a highly experienced primary school teacher, Masters-qualified early-childhood educator and mother of three children in the early years of their lives. Brea is a lover of playing and learning, as well as an interest in open-ended quality toys that develop with your children! “
“Dave is an experienced business man who has an impressive entrepreneurial and financial background. After five years of working within Engineering Offices as a Mechanical designer Dave has vast experience in manufacturing and shipping goods. He knows what is required to bring a high-quality product to the market. Dave has two children who love engaging with his Connetix everywhere they travel (yes they even take the travel bags to eat dinner! ).”
Are Connetix tiles fun?
Oh my! Yes! Absolutely! My kids have a lot of fun with them . they can create anything they want. The only thing they have to limitation to their creativity.
It is possible to build houses, animals, automobiles garages, rockets, balls, slides… The possibilities are endless.
It’s an excellent toy to play with inside however, you can also play outdoors. We’ve used a few tiles for short excursions and even to the doctors office to keep the kids entertained. It’s also a great toy to play with children from other families so that they can play together (when they’re smaller) or construct things in a group.
What’s great with open-ended toys such as those tiles is the fact that they evolve as your children grow. The toys they design will change as they develop and acquire greater skills. They’ll begin with a tiny house at the age of three and by six, they could be building tall buildings that have the windows of bridges and even bridges. It’s an amazing experience that kids of all ages (adults too) can play with. These toys aren’t just intended for children. You’ll be amazed to learn that there are plenty of adults who connect.
What is Connetix tiles?
Connetix tiles can be described as magnetic ones that are made from ABS plastic that is non-toxic and BPA lead, BPA, as well as Phthalate free. The tiles are sealed before being then riveted to ensure safety. its unique beveled shape allows Connetix to be sturdy while generating beautiful reflections. Furthermore this style makes the tiles entirely flat, which can help to reduce scratches and makes them as crystal clear as is possible.
The tiles are created in Australia and then manufactured in China. The company ensures that all tests and approvals required for selling them have been carried out and they ensure that they take the security of their products seriously.
Why did we pick Connectix?
There have been a few sets of magnetic tiles in the past and they’ve always been a huge hit in our the house. They have been gifts of surprise from friends and family and my kids loved them from the time they came in. However, the size of the sets was very small and the things they could use them for was limited. This is why we have two sets we have:
After seeing how much they loved being with the set, I decided we ought to go for something bigger at home and get an additional set they could play together and not fight over the lone two “big space” that we owned. So I began to research to make sure Santa would give us an incredible present as a family, the mega set.
I’d been spotting the Connetix tiles for a while on Instagram they were stunning and unique that they captivated my heart. However, I did some investigation at different tiles and sets. I was certain that I needed sturdy magnets as well as a set that had more than two squares (to keep from the squabbling) and clear tiles that let me play light and easy delivery to Spain. Connetix fulfilled all the criteria and the pastel shades was the main reason for me to choose them. The tiles are that are as stunning as these. And I am thrilled that we chose the Connetix Pastel collection.
In the beginning I was uncertain about whether we should buy the Rainbow colors tiles so that they could be matched with the tiles we have at home. However, at the end of the day I determined that the pastels were beautiful enough to be left behind. It is possible to combine connetix Connetix together with Magtiles we have, but we rarely ever.
I placed an order on their website in the month of November. There was talk of shortages in drivers and issues in the delivery schedule for the last quarter of 2021. Since I couldn’t find the items in the usual online stores I conducted some research and discovered they were sold exclusively in Europe. This was a fantastic choice. It arrived home in three weeks (faster than five days days they were claiming) It was wonderful. We were given it with the Pastel Mega Set (a gift from us to our family) as well as it came with the Ball Run (a gift from my parents).
It was an Connetix full-on surprise that included the gorgeous slides and tiles on Christmas Day.
What are the best ways to play on the Connetix tiles?
This toy that is open-ended is amazing. I’m sure that after playing with it for 3 months, we’ve just started to scratch the surface of the possibilities. However, I’d like to show you what we’ve learned to date.
All Connetix products include an Inspiration book which is great to draw inspiration from.
Structures and structures
The idea of creating these was my children’s first impulse. They began building houses castles, towers, or towers. Then they began putting their favourite toys inside, from tiny cars and dolls, to large plush dolls. It is possible to say that it’s their favourite way to play using the tile.
Flat and pattern designs as well as patterns
I enjoy designing geometric patterns as well as flat design and my kids love too. Geometric patterns, floral designs, characters castles, rockets you can name it! These can be created using different surfaces for various effects. On the floor or on a magnetic wall (or fridge) or on a table lamp or in front of a windows. They are gorgeous backgrounds for small-world games.
Animals
Let’s make some 3D creatures! They are such a blast and a bit more complex in that you must consider how to ensure that the structure is solid enough to withstand the burden that you have created. I’ve seen mine break several times before achieving it. There is plenty of problem-solving throughout the process and I love it. It’s hard, but possible, and you feel great once you’ve made your dream real.
Transports
They’re great for building cards such as trains, trucks rockets, spaceships, planes – whatever you can think of they could build. The set comes with two car bases that can be used to build, however you can buy the bases on their own.
Small world of play
Connetix tiles are great to add color to your tiny world installations. Create a lake, a field or a few bushes, trees tiny houses and igloos, tents garages, train stations – whatever you can think of to make your small world more appealing and more fun and colorful.
Balls run
Ball runs are a lot of fun when you play with tiles. The sound of ball rolling around is amazing. There’s also balls run sets however you don’t require it to make ball runs. Instead of using slides, create levels with the use of tiles to create ramps. you must be creative and have enjoyable. You could also make an ring run that lets rings and coins tumble down. It’s also a lot of fun. You can also have mini cars run down.
Ball maze
The maze can be a great method of playing by using ball and Connetix tiles. Instead of rolling them through different levels, create them to roll flat. I thought of creating the maze using an unfinished tray (If we had Connetix large plates I would have made use of the ones) as the maze was quite weighty I was thinking of putting it on a cushion. As a result this, children can control the ball without carrying the weight. They can press on the corners to alter the angle. I am in love with these!
Games
They are excellent sources to make games. You can design a tick-tack toe checkers board as well as snakes and ladders, soccer fields There are many games to play or even invent!
ABC & 123
The tiles are a great tool to help you learn the ABCs as well as 123. If you visit the Connetix website, you’ll get some fantastic free sources. For instance, there are cards for numbers, as well as real-sized printables for A3 numbers in the black-and-white. You can also print printables for letters. This can be a great way to grab their attention and begin to identify the letters.
I’m unable to print in A3 size, so I’ve not tried them. However, you can use the paper in a big piece then lay out your layout then trace around each tile, and show the design to your child so that they must fill in the pieces. It’s like a huge puzzle that they can complete using any combination of colors. Make a pattern of letters, their names or even objects and patterns that they’ll enjoy. A lot of fun!
You could also write on the tiles using chalk and let them choose the letters to spell their name, or words. You can also write numbers and match the numbers to items. In reality, the possibilities are infinite.
Where can we store where do we store our Connetix tiles?
When we first acquired the carts, we kept the original boxes. However, after a couple of weeks, I decided to purchase the cart made of metal from Ikea and it’s the best choice ever. The tiles are stored in the cart all the time and can be moved effortlessly around the home. I store the boxes just in case I need for me to move the items inside the cart, however they’ve been there for 2 months in a row and I have played with them nearly every day, which means that the tiles won’t go anywhere.
Connecting to other tiles
I’ve heard that the tiles are compatible with various other tiles of the same brand, including Magnatiles as well as Picasso tiles.
I’ve had the opportunity to test out the Playmag tiles we have at home and they connect, and you can mix the two. There is a little clash of colors because we use Connetix pastels as well as the Playmags that come in Rainbow shades, but my kids are able to ignore this if it means their structure is bigger.
If you’re worried about whether your current system could be connected with these, it most likely will.
Connetix tiles are an excellent plaything that can be used to develop your child.
We have a lot of fun with open-ended toys at our house. The majority of the time, it was me but our children are loving and playing with them ever more. Inviting open-ended toys into our playroom is among the best choices we’ve made. As a result we get to observe the creativity they unleash when they play and the things they create on their own. It’s incredible
Connetix is one toy which can be used for anything. Therefore, I am sure it will last for an extended period of time since it can be used with any other idea of play they’re involved with. If they’re playing in dolls’ houses, they make tables and chairs. If they play using cars, they construct garages and bridges. If they’re playing using trains, they construct stations and landscapes. Also, if we’d like to build some ball runs The slides are amazing. In all honesty, we’ve played with them a lot and strongly recommend these slides.
If you’re thinking about buying magnets for your kids do not be afraid to try it. We are so glad we’ve brought them into our lives and haven’t regretting it one time. We think the Connetix pastels are the most stunning thing there is. We love it , and I would highly recommend it.
I hope that the ideas I’ve shared here can inspire you to have fun with these toys. I’ll be sharing more ideas for play as we get to play more with them.
Have fun! !
